"All eyes on the ulama under siege"

Read an insight about the attacks against the former Perlis Mufti Dr. Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin (headline "All eyes on the ulama under siege") by columnist Joceline Tan in the Insight column (F23) in Sunday Star today and I suggest everyone to get the paper and read it. Do give it a read. It really is worth everyone's time.

Yesterday was delicious!

Thank you, kakak! Thanks for making my yesterday so delicious.

November 7 ♥

"With every rising of the sun
Think of your life as just begun."

I am still breathing! *hamdalah*

and...
I am officially 20!
Many happy returns, girl.
Be a better muslimah and strive for mardhatillah, okay.

To the year of better writing, more reading and articulate speaking.

For the birthday wishes, thanks, everyone. :)
How can a birthday possibly be better without wishes from friends & loved ones. :)
Warm hugs and deepest gratitude from the heart. ♥♥♥

And oh, this is a special note to mum.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear mum,

Thank you for conceiving me in your holy womb for approximately 9 months and 10 days. Giving birth to a 3.3 kg cute female baby on this date 20 years back at 10.16am in a general hospital was painful, wasn't it? I really can't imagine how did you went through all the pain. Lucky the baby was so comel. hehe. Then you raise me up with a perfect motherly love and care. Thank you, mum. And I love you, more than words can say.

~your youngest daughter

Thanks a bunch, everyone! --<@
and have a good day!

I am going out with my sister. :)

Daddy's girl. I resemble my father a lot. I miss you, father. Rest in peace, yah.

love,
Triningsih Ngadimun, 20.

GA

For one, praise be to Allah. Two, peace be upon everyone. :)

So how's finals going so far? Mine was okay. GA went pretty alright, except for question 1. Coz question 1 is a how-question. What we've been doing all this while is analysing, mainly of three metafunctions; Experiential, Interpersonal and Textual.

So when it asked us how are the three metafunctions realised in the lexicogrammar, I just don't know the answer. Primarily because I didn't read. Well, I did. But too little. Coz I was so occupied doing analysis and when I am occupied doing something bigger, I put less emphasis on the minor, or rather, take it for granted. Lucky it carries only 8 marks. Well, 8 marks is A LOT actually. I just wanted to soothe the worries of losing 8 marks freely.

The rest (5 questions of 32 marks, in which if I score total [which I really hope I would miraculously do], I really need not worry about losing the 8 marks) was good. Coz all we need to do is analysing sentences according to the three metafunctions and also some other grammar groups, just like the course title suggests; Grammatical Analysis. But take heed that this is not the kind of grammar we learn in school. That one, if compared to this one, is somewhat a piece of cake. No, I am not talking big, I am just making a comparison. In truth, even the perfect continuous tense we learnt in secondary, I haven't mastered yet. What a shame!

Then if anyone wonders what makes GA different from the common grammar, well, this one deals with Functional Grammar. FG uses functional approach, which is very useful in describing how people use grammar. Overall, it is concerned with resources for analysing experience (Experiential Metafunction), analysing interaction (Interpersonal Metafunction) and analysing the ways in which messages are constructed (Textual Metafunction). Whereas the grammar we learnt in school is the English Grammar. Fundamental to knowing sentence structure in English.

Coming back to the trivial, I saw sir yesterday morning. At last. Handed him the bunches of analysis I studied to be checked. Well, they are a lot, really. I can see him getting weary while going through them one by one in details. But he just continued attending me, passionately, if I shall say. And I really love when he called me clever. haha.  And he said it like quite occassionally. :) I love to brag, kan. A lot! ish, riya'!

Anyway, I really hope GA would turn out really very well. An A, for once, and for everyone who deserves. :) I am gonna pray real hard for this.

So this entire post is all about GA, heh. I think I become a geek when I am entangled in things that really interest me, just like the time I was so obsessed with my Public Speaking class. Golly! A geek! :)

Alright, one week before my next papers. Ample time to make a clever move.

Till next time!

November Change!

(aaah kenyang! alhamdulillah.. makan free, glee!)

Big changes are going to take place in November. For starter, I change the layout. :)

So the last three-posts-in-a-day on last Thursday were nothing else but a MAJOR anxiety attack over an impromptu speech. It's just so ludicrous. Of me being overly anxious and terrified. Impromptu drives me nut, heh. I just couldn't help but laugh at it. Ha ha! Lucky they both later decided we can choose our own topic. Mercy :)

And bigger exams are coming up. GA is just 3 days away. Scrambling my way through the revision days and get a very good grade in exchange. Sounds so great!

GA, you are my Everest!

All the best, people!
Success is for those who strive for the gain. :)

Elation :)

I am perfectly happy tonight. Largely because finals of my fave class turns out quite well. :)

And I am quite astonished by what my classmates do unto me tonight. Bukan apape pun sebenarnya, tapi stimulating lah. I never had all eyes on me whenever I give a speech. Some ocassionally paid attention, some just looked away, some were absorbed preparing their speech but tonight they all look at me so religiously. They really do, even some with some pleasing smiles on their face as well. Oh, soothing!

They have no idea how much they incite me to be feeling great. They fuel my confidence to the highest rate, making me feel so confident like I was never before. Seriously! And these stir me to be talking quite flowingly! God's grace!

Alhamdulillah. Thank you!

And thousands of thanks to our instructor who is like no other! We owe him kindness and leniency. I owe him much! He is genuinely very very helpful and nice! Believe me! Great to have him as the instructor. He really is the best! Vote for him haha. And I doubt my speech tonight would be as smooth as it was without him making it not impromptu. I hearted him. I really do. THANK YOU!

And thank you kakak examiner. :) I just think her accent sounds beautiful. :)

So Thursday night class is the best thing that ever happened to me this semester. It is love.
Public Speaking section 7 in memory. (ala takde gambar pulak kan.)

"O mankind, remember the favour of Allah upon you... (35: 3), Then do ye remember Me; I will remember you. Be grateful to Me and reject not Faith." (2: 152)

ps: This whole post sounds like a complete tribute, heh. :) Hehe.
with love.

Help meeeee!

I am feeling extremely nervous until I feel like my heart is going to blow up at any time.

I am really really nervous. I know I shouldn't. But it's just sooo irresistible. I swear it comes out of nowhere. I tell myself to be cool and not to worry too much. But it doesn't stop bothering me so dreadfully. It makes me think of it. And when I think of it I feel scared. I wanted to cry!

Why do they change the format? Why can't the speech be prepared? Why can't we choose our own topic? Why must it be impromptu? Why am I so scared? WHY???!!!

And the fact that my friend from other section got 96% somehow freak me out even more.

Stress!

Chill Lah!

Weird to be worrying too much for a 3-5mins speech for a finals tonight, but somehow someway I am, anywise. If tak pergi pun I still can get a promising grade, thanks to the instructor, but I still have this worry that nudges me to be feeling anxious.

I caught a glimpse of whom I aspired to be and how much I expected to have improved when the class ended and it's frustrating to know the improvement is very very little. I am still very much lack of the skill. The skill that I should have almost mastered from the class.

But I have not. Words and ideas are rarely coming out from me flowingly. Everyone in the class is just so cool why me not, why?

I wish nervousness and palpitation would no longer supercede my confidence but at times they still do.

And the worry, I guess primarily because the speech is impromptu. Second because I know consequently I will end up talking crap. And stammering and breathing audibly and nervous to the max.

Sometimes I wish I am Basit, Yousuf, Umar, Muaz, Nabil, Saifullah and Naem. And I wish the examiner would be no one else but our instructor. But these wishes would never come true.

Classmates, could you spare me little of your fluency, eloquence, steadiness and flowing ideas, please...So I don't feel so bad about my speaking incompetency. Oh, great!

Sputter Spatter

The post before was sooo lah kesian. Yesterday was a bright day, REALLY. Because of many good reasons. So will today, I pray.

This is official. I am a holder of the biggest brain type possible in humans today. Haha! Genius they call it, yeah! But this was two days ago. Yesterday it elevated to Space Ace. :) Shine in analysis. But genius sounds better to my ears. I still rank 6 among friends who's playing. Need improvement. Top 1 possesses squidlian. For the moment, cyborg is my mission. Go go go! But sure not now, later when I got some free time okaaay.

Final exam for my Public Speaking class is tomorrow, OMG!

And it's impromptu!!! oh shoooot! I really need to learn how to be cool, and talk more clearly even while my confidence level is at the lowest point. Let's just pray I would not be so nervous and stammering like I always do even when the speech is prepared haha (what more if it's impromptu!).

And let's just pray the examiner would really be lenient in marking just like my instructor assures me. But people say women are more particular. Hopefully she is not. Be as lenient as my instructor, yah. Thank you.
